On October 22, 2025, the Center for Support & Continuing Education (CSCE) – under the Vietnam Medical Association – held a meeting with the Advisory Council and the Scientific & Training Council to review operational directions and unify plans for implementing continuing education programs for the 2025–2030 period.
Development strategy and operational focus
At the meeting, Dr. Truong Hong Son – Director and Chairman of the Center’s Management Council – reported to the Advisory Council and the Scientific & Training Council on the organizational structure and development direction of the Center for the new period of 2026-2030, accompanied by the strategy and operational plan for 2025 and 2026 with four key pillars: continuing education for medical staff at all levels, promoting scientific research, developing specialized consulting services, and expanding domestic and international cooperation.
Expanding training audiences and preparing for competency standardization
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Viet Tien emphasized the importance of expanding the target audience for training, specifically aiming at medical staff within the healthcare system. Simultaneously, he directed the development of review content and question banks to serve training activities for granting Continuing Medical Education (CME) certification for the medical practice competency examination starting from 2027.

Compliance with regulations and strengthening international cooperation
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Xuyen suggested developing the Center based on compliance with Circular 32/2023/TT-BYT. She also proposed expanding practical training programs, strengthening international cooperation, and reviewing all processes to meet the Ministry of Health’s requirements for granting continuing education certification.
Ensuring standards and training quality
From a professional perspective, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Cong Khan and Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kinh emphasized the requirement to ensure quality, standards, and consistency throughout the process of building, appraising, and implementing training programs. Members of the Advisory Council and the Scientific & Training Council also proposed a periodic post-audit mechanism to monitor and evaluate training quality in accordance with the Ministry of Health’s regulations.
Commitment to building a reputable and integrated unit
Concluding the meeting, Dr. Truong Hong Son summarized the contributions and directions of the Advisory Council and the Scientific & Training Council, while emphasizing the determination to build the Center for Support & Continuing Education into a reputable, professional, and internationally integrated medical education unit.
